Happy Independence Day

We had a great day this year. John was off and we just hung out together in the morning. We stopped by his parent’s house for a bit to see his mom who had broken her arm the Thursday before. Then we hung out with some great friends (the Garrison’s) and then met my family at Benedict Park in Brighton to watch the fireworks, as is our family tradition. Brighton started the fireworks late (as usual) but once they got going they were pretty good.

At our friend Brycen and Johna’s house, they set off some fireworks for the kids. I’m not sure who had more fun, the dad’s lighting the fireworks or the kids watching them. Pretty sure the dad’s win!! Though the kids thought it was pretty great too.

FYI, Tyler’s friend Gianna (Gigi) decided a few weeks ago that she was going to marry Tyler because he’s the “best buddy she ever had”. Plus, she wanted to marry her daddy and after her parent’s explained to her that she could only marry someone she wasn’t related to and listing the options she had, Tyler won out. Although, I’m told John was in the running for awhile, but they explained he was already taken...phew...I’m not sure I could have competed with the 4 year old! She’s a cute little blonde!
